I don't get why the opponents react as if there are a limited number of slots in education, there are not, if demands demonstrates a need to expand, than school expand, at 65k undocumented students per year we are a very small proportion of the students coming out of high school, and my school has increased the application pool by more than 1000 students this year alone, they benefit from having more students irrespective of status or nationality as it will improve the variety of fields they lead and work with and their ability to get more funds for more stuff. Its when demand decreases that the money stops flowing in and they are forced to cut teachers and labs, and consequently with fewer teachers fewer students can attend. it becomes a cycle in both directions, I feel particularly controlled by the student interest in getting into college, and the interest is high for those that want to go to college and low for those that are being forced into college who would not have been able to apply if it was not because of the No Child Left Behind Act that lowered the standards that more people are able to graduate for less achievement in education than before.
but I am preaching to the choir right now.
