That's great news! I work a bit with them too. AI actually has quarters/organization worldwide, and if often those that are in your region would get together to talk about topics. None has been put forward about immigration yet here in my area, but the issue is definitely there. I think it's a HUGE part of the reason why laws like SB1070 and the Alabama bill can't be implemented on it's own. Both bills would lead to descrimination and violation of rights to educate (banning k-12 schooling for undocs, please!), and the USA can't afford to have a bad rep with the UN.
Also since human rights goes beyond lawful documents and government rules, you don't have to be a "legal permanent immigrant" to fight for it.
