And as far as Mexico goes, I live here so I see the news everyday. Its disappointing to see, but no one really gives a shit about the people that cross in from Guatemala. The women who come in bring condoms because they know they have a 50% chanse of getting raped. If you have a foreign accent and you are on the bus, the Mexican police will pull you off. They determine your immigration status by making you sing the Mexican National Anthem, and if you don't know it, then you disappear. No one goes around filming border vigilantes or police abuse, its basically silenced. So you guys are lucky you at least have people looking out for you.

I think its sad and its an international problem...its like how people beat up on freshman or fraternity pledges. I think people think that if you are the new guy, you gotta go through shit for awhile as a kind of right of passage. And I believe its the same way in Europe. Its a really fucked up human mentality in general.
