Below is letter written by 14 year old Victoria Valdez who is set to be deported from her home in New Jersey on Sunday, April 29th. Victoria has been living in the United States since the age of 3. Please take action by asking President Obama to prevent her deportation.
My name is Victoria, I am 14 years old, and I am from New Jersey. On Sunday, I have to leave and go to Argentina.
I came to New Jersey with my mother when I was three years old. I don’t actually remember coming, but my mom says we came to she could work. Now I am in the 9th grade. I love animals and I want to be a vet when I grow up.
I don’t really understand why we have to leave. My dad was sent back to Argentina almost a year ago and I miss him everyday. My aunt, Jordana, was in a jail for nine months and I didn’t get to see her at all. She finally came home a couple of weeks ago and our whole family was so happy. But now we have to leave and everyone is sad again.
Your signatures and calls helped keep Victoria's Aunt here, now do the same for Victoria. Sign and call so we can keep Victoria home! "ICE, grant the Stay of Removal!"
I want to stay here. I want to finish the 9th grade. I want to say bye to my friends and my teachers. I hope the President lets me stay.
Thank you for anything you can do for me, I was so surprised and happy when people were able to help my aunt stay so I guess I will hope for a miracle.
Sincerely,
Victoria Valdez
From New Jersey
A Stay of Removal has been filed for Victoria and her mother, it is the only chance they have to remain in this country. Please sign her petition and make a call to stop this high schoolers immediate deportation!
