The whole purpose of e-verify is to weed out any individuals working without papers. If it is set up across the nation, every single business, probably with the exception of very small businesses, will have to comply with the rules and check every single employee's work status. Even those guys might be able to get e-verify machines if gov't decides to subsidize the cost of buying them.
The idea that illegals working without papers will not be harmed is a fallacy. Why do you think anti-illegal immigrant groups like Numbers USA, Sessions, and Smith want to have this passed? A bill just to go after people using fake ssn s?
I'm telling you, it will make looking for employment much more difficult, regardless of whether or not you have a ssn, because employers will be more hesitant to hire illegals due to the consequences that they might face if caught (fines, revoked license, etc). Besides, how many of us really have ssn s? A small portion I would think.
E-verify will harm us greatly, you guys. I don't understand why some of you keep voicing for e-verify inclusion into DA?!!
