Never say never. They may double down on
something as they are desperate right now to not let Obama get all of the attention. Their reactions to this speaks volumes about the panic they're facing within the party over it.

Two polls now show that the public favors this policy change (one liberal and the other rather conservative). Republicans are cornered and they know it. If Romney's sugar daddies are serious about him winning, then we'll see a bill.
