WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was taken to a hospital Friday after his caravan was involved in a collision on Interstate 15 near the Strip in Las Vegas, but the injuries do not appear to be life threatening, officials said.
Reid’s multi-truck caravan and at least one other car were involved in the crash at 1:10 p.m. local time on the freeway just north of Sahara Avenue. The senator was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas by those driving one of his caravan vehicles, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
“The injuries do not appear to be life threatening,” said Trooper Loy Hixon, a spokesman for the Highway Patrol
