I literally just got back from the Social Security Office where I had them "Transfer my Earnings" (that's the term she used) from the fake social to the new legitimate one. You have to take all of your W2s from all employers. Don't freak out if you can't find one. They found earnings for a couple of years for which I couldn't find my W2s and transferred them over. She told me that I was then going to get a letter on the mail stating what they had done, and that I need to keep that in my records.
