Yikes. They're punting again. Not surprising given their history on immigration reform.

Boehner deferring to Obama allows Boehner to take a defensive position -- blocking a controversial bill is much easier to do than passing one. I don't know why they're using the "secure the border" language again either. It doesn't make sense. "Securing the border" is such an amorphous concept and ultimately a pipe dream for anyone who's actually serious about completely sealing the border.

The moral of the story is that you can't trust anyone in the GOP about immigration until they decide to take equal ownership of a bill (i.e. not asking Obama to "take the lead") or they decide to lead on their own.
