So I'm new and why not tell you guys a little about myself.

I was brought to FL when I was 8 or 9.. (I was in the middle of 4th grade)
Everything was fine, before I knew it I learned English, got good grades, made a lot of friends.
THEN comes sophomore year and all my friends are signing up for Drivers Ed classes and that's when I find out about my status. YAY. At that point I didn't tell anyone, I kept it to myself. My junior year I switched high schools to a new charter high school that had just opened near my house. It was super small and very college oriented, most classes they offered were AP classes and Dual Enrollment (yaayyyuhh!)
I was very involved in school, was treasurer of Key Club and Student Government, played Softball, was in a soccer club outside of school, and was Homecoming Queen my senior year. Everything was great except that one class all seniors were required to take which was College Success. One of our assignments was to apply to at least 4 colleges.
At that point in time, few of my closest friends knew about my situation. My student counselor also knew but she was clueless as to what to do with me or what to do to help me. Just to finish the stupid assignment I applied to 4 Universities in the state of Florida as an International student.
I got in all 4.
One offered me a scholarship but it wouldn't be enough.
The other (University of Florida) was where I really wanted to go :/
Anyways, dreadful graduation came and well I had to give my Salutatorian speech and it was the most bittersweet moment. I still don't know how I managed to hold back the tears that whole day.
Anyways, the next 2 years I was a bum. Couldn't find work, couldn't save up money for school. School seemed to faaaarr away. It was horrible.
Went through depression, watched countless movies on my laptop.

Then one night of pure desperation I decide to contact one my school's founders who is actually a retired NFL football player. He has a foundation to help students (US residents/citizens of course) from poorer backgrounds into college (this I didn't know). So I email him and I explain how I was his school's 2010 Salutatorian, I'm undocumented and that I really want to continue my education, if he was interested in helping me.
I had to explain to him what it meant to be undocumented because he was clueless.
After that, his secretary emailed me and we set up a meeting.
At the meeting he starts telling me how he remembers my speech at graduation, how he was so surprised that someone as small as me had to address that big audience lol smh -.- and then asks all these other questions, and what I plan to study.
(All through out high school i was undecided, didn't have time to really sit down and think about what I wanted to do since I was so stressed about actually trying going to school)
The night before i was looking around for my options of study and such and the first thing that slips out my mouth is: Aerospace Engineering.
His mouth drops and gets all excited and tells me that his secretary will be in contact with me so we can get started.
He agreed to get me through my A.A at a community college. I was more than happy to accept. He also said that after I get my A.A in engineering, that we'll see what happens (i don't know if he'll continue to sponsor me) but anyways.
It was a pain in the butt getting instate tuition. OMG. But it was possible!! There are always ways.
Since I had done Dual Enrollment at the same community college, I already had some credits done, which was nice.
This first semester of being back felt so good. At first I was like: wtf was I thinking on choosing engineering. But now as each day passes I love the crazy idea even more.
Ever since I was little I've always wanted to be an astronaut hehe.
Now that I found out that UF gives instate to us DACA kids, I'm really considering transferring there!
Oh, I also work full time, it'll almost be a year of me working at the same place.
So my life got pretty busy.
All I'm waiting for (like most of you too) is for my DACA approval! too bad I was one of the lucky ones to be placed at Vermont -_____-
Can't wait to be able to visit my family in Texas!

So that's my sort of "condensed" story, I'm sorry if it's long, hope I didn't bore you.

Other stuff:
I'm super short (5'0 )
I'm a huge futbol fan, VISCA BARÇA!!
I'm Mexican/Chinese (mas mexicana que la chingada tho)
LOOOOOOVE the beach
I'm into Kdramas & Kpop... lol that's where my weird Asian side stands out
I love my cats and have this weird obsession with Adidas.

I think that's enough lol sorry in advance D:
