I am currently filling out the DACA appliocations and almost done with all evidence.
I have been living here since 2002 after over staying on my B2 Visa.
I am pretty much American, attended middle school and high school, this is a great opportunity for me to work legally, go to school, and finally obtain a degree .
I am almost done with everything, I have gathered all papers necessary : (i-94, high school diploma, stamp on passport when admitted).
I also have bank statements that show I was here right before June 15, 2012 and on that day I purchased something at Publix.
I have dated bank statements that go back to June 27, 2007 which is when I enrolled for a debit card. I have statements for 2 months of each year.
And then for all years I have gathered receipts, correspondence, transcripts from middle and high school, random report cards, dental insurance policy, dental work, prescriptions.
I am confident I have all the paperwork that more than qualifies for an acceptance, but I have my doubts:
1) Do I need a cover letter? i included when but you don't have to. I just basically listed what was included in the package
2) Do I really need a lawyer? I have not been arrested ever. The forms are very easy and are all filled. no you don't. just go over your application a couple of times to make sure you did not miss anything. Leave anything that does not apply to you blank.
3) Can I translate my own birth certificate? Or does someone else have to translate it and notarize it? No, you don't have to get it notarized you just need a translation certification. If you do a search on this thread you will find it. I think it was posted by turmanlina.
4)What is the best way to organize everything?
I think by category. USCIS ask that you label and organize all your evidence. You don't have to but I included an index in the following format.
I. Identity Documentation
II. evidence entrance before 16
III. evidence of High School Graduation.
IV. evidence I don't have status. (I was EWI so included an affidavit saying I was w/o status because I entered without inspection. but this is where your expired visa goes if you included as proof of identity make sure you label it as well)
VI.evidence I was here June 15, 2012
VII. evidence of continous residency June 15-2007-June 15-2012
2007 evidence
2008
2009
2010
2011
2012
5) Is there a limit to the number of pages to be sent? My packet looks fat! NO but try to minimize your packet and only include stuff you really need to include. Do not send multiple stuff (ex: Two papers that cover May 2007 instead Jan, April, July, Nov 2007.) Spread out throughout the year or month to month. But they don't have to be single papers. (ex: Payment ledger for dentist that included all payments made in 2009)
6) I have been working since 15 yrs old and getting paid cash. Will making money be a problem in their decision making? NO it is not just explain your income in the I765. You don't have to say it was under the table. Just estimate how much you have made and how much you spend and explain who fills the other gaps.
I currently make 19000 yearly and my expenses are of 17000 yearly. Will it be ok to put those numbers in the i765 WS? yes that is fine. Just explaiin a little about your expenses and where you work. Such as tuition, car payment, you help your parents with rent etc...
Thank you so much, I want to send this papers by the end of the week, but want to make sure all the little touches are done.
I appreciate to whoever can respond. (I do not have the resources to pay for a lawyer and do not think it's necessary).
