It seems even Tea Party members are open to immigration reform, deep down they probably would just like to derail the whole thing, but the force behind CIR is just too strong to stop and they possibly may have given in. I don't see how its possible for the extremist minority to stop an unstoppable force at this point in time. It has got to be political suicide to go against immigration reform right now. Honestly, if CIR doesn't pass this year (or early next year the very latest) then it would be extremely embarassing for Congress at a time where their approval ratings are at an all time low.
