Why else would you return back to your native country? So now the option is go back home, stay there for 5 years, then get a green card, or stay here having a 2 year requirement, wait 10 years for a green card.

Why would it make sense for someone to go back to 'home' country and stay there for 5 years when an undocumented can get a work permit and work and contribute to the economy for the next 5 years here? In the other article, it says you have to be here 12/31/2011 or earlier right? It could make sense to return back home if one arrived after that date and wait 5 years.
