And he definitely will win if he runs. Just imagine the hispanic votes he wins if he is a key person in this whole immigration thing. Hispanics were very unhappy with Obama in his first term for not pushing as much as he said he would. Now that Rubio is stepping up to the plate and doing talk shows, interviews, radio shows etc. he's appealing to the huge hispanic population and will definitely earn their vote when he runs in 2016. People will believe that he is what drove the immigration bill to the end to finally get it passed.
Republicans know that the only way they'll win an election in this day and age is from support from the growing hispanic population, and one way to do that is have a hispanic Representative for their party. Does no one remember Rubio's approach a while back for the whole "go back and get your visas properly" or the "you can never be a citizen, just a green card holder" So whats with the change all of a sudden? It isn't an actual change in opinion, it is a change that will allow for more power in government that the republicans will get as a result of conforming to these new ideas...which they all generally opposed a while back.
It's very interesting to watch politics these days.
