I don't see how this could possibly be true. We would have heard something on the news or someone would have posted something here. Plus, if it is a law then it would be for all of Florida and there are other universities who are allowing it. I think you should try asking another person and if given the same answer ask the laws name or something so you can verify it. If it exist there has to be a record of it somewhere. If the person who is helping you can't answer questions keep bothering them until you get someone who can. Keep asking, keep questioning, do all you can. It's amazing how some colleges have extremely uninformed employees who will say whatever in order to move onto the next person in line.
