@2face: No. Because then they will lower the standard even more into the ridiculous. You can drive, work and travel, but then they will tell you how, where and when. See the Florida example of authorized presence (DACA) and denial of driver's licenses. And to remove all sorts of safety nets for kids is unrealistic and dangerous, you will have opposition from everyone to these, from our 'allies' and the opposition. And I think it's immoral.

I've written this Maureen Dowd quote before, "the minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for" - the immigrant community and our 'allies' in govmt acceded to all the security benchmarks that were part of the 2007 immigration deal and then some, and it's now nowhere near enough according to Republicans. Because of human imagination, they will come up with hundreds of other security-related 'ideas' and so security can never be met according to them. And on and on. You get my drift.
