That is really unfortunate. It seems sometimes as though only the Bushes are sympathetic.
There are some factions within what would otherwise be considered left leaning groups that are hostile to immigrants. Labor groups are among these. Instead of becoming allies with undocumented workers, they choose to scapegoat them for problems causes by corporations.
So while left leaning politicos tend to be more sympathetic in general to immigrants, let's remember that this hostility to immigrants is far from limited to conservatives.
