This is sad; I hope there can be some relief for these dreamers. I completely understand why somebody in our position would want to go "home", though, especially when things seem so dire in terms of future prospects.

At the same time, what happened to Gil is what I feared would happen if I had chosen to go back to my country of origin when I turned 18.

There was one dreamer here who went back to the Philippines and applied to study in Canada (with some opportunities for adjustment, I believe), and was successful. I've seriously considered this route, but it's pretty hard to immigrate there (as it is in most countries), without finishing college and having some experience in a STEM job.
