They said that they could go ahead and take my case but that they wouldn't recommend me going forward. It seems that for me to get a green card, my lawyers would have to show that my leaving would cause qualifying citizens extreme hardship. The only qualifying citizen is my wife . Since she is young, healthy, and has a good job, lawyers said it would be difficult to make a case showing that my leaving would cause her "extreme" hardship.
