Guys, if I remember correctly, the first time I did my renewal, the day my renewal got approved ended up being the new expiration date on my EAD. My original EAD expired 9/21/2014 and my renewal got approved 9/4/2014 which is ended up being the expiration date for my current EAD 9/4/2016. I ended up losing 2 weeks off my first EAD.
Assuming they still assign expiration dates that way, my guess is that they will try to approve new EADs as close to the expiration date as possible to minimize the amount of time shaved off.
