Highly doubt that this would be the case. I am not sure where the rep is getting this info from, but unless the DACA renewal notice is backdated to previous expiration, not sure how they are going to track this as their guidelines currently say if the DACA lapses, you will accrue unlawful presence.
It is amazing that they don't stick to their guidelines of providing an extension in case of delays for applications filed according to their timelines but then provide inaccurate info on top of it about unlawful presence.
Hope they resolve the delays or formalize an extension process soon being sensitive to the needs of many of us in this situation.
