I was thinking about this as well. There's a bit of a selection bias here because it could be that members who are posting are those whose renewals are being delayed. There could very well be many members that are being processed normally but simply do not feel the need to check the forum.
I do think though that there are probably more than 5% of applicants that are not being approved in time. The number may still be statistically insignificant, but I think we are starting to see a troubling trend here.
