There seems to be a misinterpretation on what I said before about the lost applications. The initial applications are scanned at the lockboxes (i.e where you send your application initially), uploaded to the your virtual USCIS profile, and then they are electronically transferred along with meta data pertaining to your application to the appropriate Service Center. The applications are then stored in blocks at the Service Center along with previous documents and biometrics data. This said block is the one that got corrupted and encompassed numerous application. But alas, they are recovering data and the applications from said block are trickling slowly but surely.I wish I knew more about the whole system but I'm limited to what I know. The least I can do for you guys is to bring some behind the scenes info at the madness that is going on at NSC.
