As far as Trump is concerned, yeah he is an absolute idiot but I don't think deep inside he is racist. I wouldn't vote for him anyway. But I do believe he has been ultra conservative against immigrants only because he wanted to become the Republican nominee. Lately you have been seeing he is attempting to slowly flip flop because he realizes now what a huge mistake he has made. CIR will only pass if EITHER party gets a full proof filibuster proof majority. Republicans are more than capable of passing CIR too. The problem is the parties don't compromise with each other. Democrats don't believe in compromising. They keep saying stupid shit like "path to CITIZENSHIP" instead of saying things like "earned path towards legalization."
Well, I have no doubt that any other Republican candidate would have left DACA alone for fear of the ramifications that it would cause the party in the long run. But Trump does not care about the Republican party or its future. This is a man that has changed party registration throughout the years and even donated to democrats. He has tried to flip flop, but also he has tried now to turn African Americans and even Hispanic citizens against immigrants because of "job scarcity". This man is not our ally at all. I agree, but I also believe we will start seeing some Republicans break away from their party and vote with democrats on this issue as they try to preserve their seats. We have seen a lot of Republicans this cycle breaking flank and not throwing their support behind the Republican nominee. In the end, more minorities and millennials need to start voting. Millenials are far more liberal than any previous American generation, but even though we rival baby boomers in terms of eligible voters. Millenials are 30% less likely to vote than baby boomers.
