I work for one of the Big 4, and I wasn't worried about perception until it was mentioned here. My firm hires international employees all the time, so they're used to working out EAD issues. They did not treat this like a big deal at all. However, my teams may be a different story. Although all of my co-workers and supervisors have been nothing but supportive and want me to come back ASAP, I do wonder whether now they see me as more of a liability than anything. I'm a top-rated employee, but they might not be able to rely on me as consistently as others because of this one lapse. What if it happens again in two years, you know?
I've been thinking of transferring to another division or another Big 4 anyway (into the M&A advisory practice rather than assurance), so maybe this is the push I needed.

My company is pretty big... 120k+ employees. Perception I'm more worried about is people within my group. My boss and my director. For instance, my boss didn't know I was on an EAD. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
