That does not sound like a bad idea.
Here's why I think that:
When I went to a different ASC than I was scheduled and did my walk-in, I noticed that they don't check any computer system for your appointment, they just look at your letter and go by that. They had to make no adjustments in the computer to allow my walk-in.
Also, those 3 barcodes on the biometrics appt: I scanned them and decoded them with an iphone app, and all those barcodes contain are your name/address and receipt numbers to save time when processing you.
I am a believer that if one was to craft a page with the right barcodes, one would be able to choose a date/time/place to do biometrics... but we're not going to make stuff up.
So... it will be up to the ASC manager to allow you to do it, they will have to type all your info in (name, address, dob, a#, receipt numbers, etc) in order to process you, which they may not be willing to do.
Considering you've already tried everything else, I'd give it a shot... if they say yes, just pray that they don't make a typo and create a new headache for you.
