I just came back from Hawaii a week ago. Mine expires january 2017. All you need is a non expired government approved ID (which is your CA DL) and your boarding pass to get through TSA. That's all I bring to any domestic travel.

I have a flight to Hawaii coming up this Friday--should I bring a copy of current passport just in case? The passport won't have any US visas on it.

I wanna know what would be the best course of action that won't get me in trouble at the airport.
