Question about AOS. My AOS is a bit different as it's not thru marriage. My AOS is from an approved I-130 filed by my mother. She is a U.S. citizen. I also qualify to adjust status under 245i. So no problems for me adjusting status without having to leave the country.
The I-130 was filed November 3, 2010. I now have DACA. I've basically been waiting for my priority date to become current to file AOS. According to the October 2016 visa bulletin, I can file for AOS as my priority date is now current. My priority is F1. The chart under DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS is the chart USCIS says should be used to file AOS. My question is do I just go ahead and file AOS or do I have to wait for some sort of notification by the NATIONAL VISA CENTER. This is what the visa bulletin says:
" The chart below reflects dates for filing visa applications within a timeframe justifying immediate action in the application process. Applicants for immigrant visas who have a priority date earlier than the application date in the chart below may assemble and submit required documents to the Department of State’s National Visa Center, following receipt of notification from the National Visa Center containing detailed instructions"
I've contacted NVC via e-mail 2 days ago but have yet to receive a reply.
