However, deep down, I'm still a bit hesitant because I'm flying from coast to coast and if they reject me, I might have to take a bus back  .
Any advice?

Same here brother. Although, I sent in my renewal date. Hoping it happens in the next couple of weeks. Been having to use my car minimally.
