Hi everyone, I've been lurking on this thread for a while now.
I applied on 5/24/2016 and EAD expired on 9/18/2016 and I've been on a leave of absence since then. I work for a major hospital so HR is pretty strict with their policies. So I cannot go back to work until they see the physical EAD card. It's been really tough just waiting at home and not knowing when your life will start again.
I did all the things you can possibly do; made several service requests, contacted ILC, contacted Ombudsman's office etc. The attorney that worked on my case is good friends with the senator so I've been getting periodic updates on my case. I just want to share with everyone the message that I got back from the senator...
"USCIS electronic records confirm that your constituent’s DACA renewal case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating these cases in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed"
I don't understand why there is such an issue considering they would find absolutely nothing with my background check. So I'm assuming a lot of people's cases has been delayed due to this reason, despite them saying "a small percentage."
