I was given a 60 day leave of absence until Nov 4th, which was very generous. After that I will be terminated, though I can apply for re-hire if I manage to get my permit and my position hasn't been filled yet. I'm trying to see if HR will extend my leave just a bit longer. They hired a temp worker to fill my spot in the mean time which is either a blessing or a curse. Blessing because it may help buy me more time if someone is covering my duties. Curse because that person could potentially be my replacement.
So they're not even willing to put you on leave? Even if they do ax you, it will take time to interview and hire a replacement, and if they are willing to accept the notice, you have a shot at going back the moment you get an approval. Let's just hope we start seeing some approvals for July applicants in the coming week or two.... which is probably too much to hope for from USCIS but still, MIRACLES man, MIRACLES.
