Dude, forget about DACA. My analysis does not center on DACA. My point of analysis is on permanent relief (such as immigration reform or some Republican version of the dream act--something permanent).
In terms of Republicans controlling congress, inaccurate. How many votes are needed in the Senate to pass anything? Answer: 60 + How many Republicans will be in the Senate when the Trump administration begins? Answer: 51. So, what do you mean by
control? You make it seem like they will be able to do anything they want to do. Nope.
Whether you want to admit it or not, Republicans and Trump will need to compromise with the Democrats in the Senate to get shit done. Period. Unless we are surprised, Democrats will oppose Trump's End Illegal Immigration Act for two main reasons (1) No relief for immigrants (2) make mexico pay for the wall. This act was one of the pillars of the Trump campaign. If he wants to deliver, he will need to be cater to Democrats in the Senate.
