Exactly, why didn't they just end it on day 1? That's the big question. There are a lot of theories floating around, but none of them make any sense to me. The "waiting on Sessions" theory doesn't make sense because the order has already been drafted and they didn't need him for their Muslim ban so they certainly don't need him for ending DACA. The "avoiding negative publicity" argument also doesn't make too much sense because one way or another they will face negative publicity when they decide to act anyway, only now it will be much worse because it will be on top of the million other complaints and protests they have going against them as it is.

I think the most logical reason why DACA is still standing is because they really don't know what to do about us. They may ultimately decide to just end it, but each day that goes by and more negative press is added to the current administration the harder it will be for Trump to just pull the trigger on us. The question they must be asking themselves is whether or not the consequences that they would suffer if they end DACA will be worth the near non-existing gains of ending it.
