When Trump was saying all that crazy stuff on the campaign trail I doubt he was even really "thinking". I share the opinion of the people who believe he did not really want to win the election. Like he just wanted to increase his brand with the campaign and then when he lost he could increase it further by telling anyone who would listen about how he was screwed out of it by crooked politicians. Basically he was creating fodder for Trump TV. But elections have consequences, and whether he wanted to win or not he now has to address everything he said in the campaign, including ending DACA. But the fact that he hasn't done so already at least shows that he is nervous about the pounding his reputation will take if he just ends it and screws people over. I'm hoping this ends in a scenario where DACA survives in some shape or form, however limited. Something like no new applicants allowed but those already covered are grandfathered and can continue to renew until congress passes something permanent. That way he can claim the program is "over" and keep from screwing current DACA beneficiaries over.
