his birth certificate is sufficient enough.
for the cover letter just google uscis cover letters, there are hundreds of examples
with form I-130, you need to send your marriage certificates, copy of the Full Birth certificate (front and back) for your husband. bank statements with both your names on the account or insurance policies with both names on it (this shows you mingle financially). and of course show you both leave together so both your name on the lease or mortgage. if you have any children together include the children's birth certificates as well.
the conditional green card is if you have been married for less than 2 years.
I applied the week after I received my marriage certificate. it's up to you when you apply
