Did you send in the renewal paper that you get in the mail where they ask for a copy of your EAD? If so, I would recommend you just go to the DMV in person. When I first sent in my renewal notice, I never heard back from them. I went in person and all they had me do was fill out a renewal application, do the vision test and I walked out with a temporary one.
