The other guy who was deported probably had commited a more serious DUI and was convicted and had no relief . He most of been Caught red-handed because a good lawyer would've been able to plead it down to reckless driving or an immigration safe plea.
I was curious about that also. A month for a DUI? Most states (even if they put you in jail post conviction) you do a week. But they also offer community service, etc I lieu of actual jail time. It must have been a very serious DUI to have a month in county jail for it. Also, the story said he married his gf who is a USC. and his conviction "doesn't allow her to petition him". I'm thinking a drug related DUI, not alcohol. That's just me tho.
