They may not be equivalent in may ways, but Democrats are still at fault for refusing to compromise on an issue that Republicans value so highly. Let's be frank: the Republican concern on border/national security is legitimate. Both parties are at fault in many ways on the issue of immigration. I will give you a friendly reminder: Obama deported more immigrants than any other administration--even ones that did not deserve to be deported--even though he did deliver on DACA. Remember the slogan, "Deporter in Chief"? Remember Gutierrez getting arrest for protesting against Obama's deportations? Let us not forget that Democrats had the opportunity to exert all of the political muscle on immigration reform (which Obama promised to do as soon as he entered office) when Dems controlled Congress. All I am saying is that Pelosi's refusal to compromise is embarrassing and should not be encouraged.
