Hey everyone, long time lurker and sharing my info.
My initial DACA application took 6 months in 2013, I do have final order of deportation which I thought at the time made the process longer. My first renewal was fairly quick at 2 months in 2015.
DACA/EAD Expiration date: 5/18/17
Sent application: 12/27/2016
Received: 1/3/2017 (routed to Nebraska service center)
Biometric: Scheduled 2/9/2017 - Completed 2/8/2017 due to my flight on the next day
Contacted Local Congressman: 5/12/17 -Filled/signed Immigration Privacy release form, Congressman staff was excellent and submitted USCIS case inquiry on my behalf the same day
i-765 Approval: 5/14/17
i-821D Approval: 5/15/17
I'm so grateful that my local congressman staff was knowledgeable and response to my call and email instantaneously. This is the last email she sent me earlier today.
“This email is in response to your inquiry regarding Mr. (removed)’s Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization Document (EAD), which was filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on January 3, 2017.
USCIS records confirm that Mr. (removed)’s Form I-821D was granted and the Form I-765 was approved on May 15, 2017. Following the approval of the Form I-765 application, the data pertaining to that case was submitted for the production of your constituent’s EAD. After the production process is complete, your constituent’s EAD will be sent to the address on file in (removed). If your constituent does not receive the EAD within 7-14 days, you may contact us for an update.
We hope this information is helpful to you. If we may be of further assistance, please let us know. If forwarding to your constituent, please redact my name and signature block which should not be shared with the public.”
God is good, I was worried this administration will delay or even reject my case. I might have to take vacation from work since it probably arrive after my current EAD expired, but my mind is at ease knowing that it will be there soon.
Good luck to others, I hope you get yours soon as well.
