Why am I required to file the 130A? Is that the new forms and stuff?

I-130A is like a new G-325A but just for I-130 petitions. It's new since last month, I believe.
Your EAD is on hold right now until you have respond to them with the proper evidence. You could feel a small delay, some do - some don't.
