That's the way Republicans see it, and that's a slap in the face to them. And in a way, that's the way a lot of undocumented immigrants see it too: nothing more than an opportunity that they should take advantage of. And why shouldn't they?

We can argue that some parents of U.S. born children had kids here NOT with the intention to someday use their children as leverage to secure status, sure. But we can also argue that some parents of U.S. born children had kids here WITH the intention to someday use their children as leverage to secure their status.

And it's the latter who fucked it up for everyone else.
