DACA is created by executive order , not a law, can be very easily repealed by a stroke of pen . President Trump can do it even without any reason. although he promised to immediately terminate DACA during his campaign trail, but he appeared to be soften his stance on DACA since inauguration. There are only two reasons he hasn't ended DACA,
1. he does have compassion for us, he does has a big heart like he said
2. he wants to end DACA, but afraid of the political backlash

Now 10 heartless GOP AG filed official request or threat to urge President Trump to rescind DACA by 9/5/2017. I predict the following outcomes:

1. President Trump ends DACA by 9/5/2017 ( possible)
2. President Trump does not cancel DACA, order Justice Dept to defend in court, keep in mind current Justice Dept is lead by Jeff Session , Jeff Session is NO 1 anti-immigrant, anti-DACA politician in US, So I don't think Jeff Session is going to defend for us. (almost impossible)
3. Congress pass a legislation to help us ( very low possibility) , for 16 years, immigration reform has not happened, but if Democrat compromise on some of the issues such as E-verify, tax reform , healthcare bill, permanent relief for us might be possible

Very detailed post and I like that you're being pragmatic and descriptive. Here are my observations. I get irked when DACA is referred to as executive order. It was more of a DHS memorandum/act of prosecutorial discretion. But anyway, you're absolutely right that it can be taken away just as quickly as it was put in place. Here are a few of my major observations/insight on this:

- I actually think DACA can be defended in the courts. I am no lawyer but if Sessions isn't willing to fight it out..is there any possibility the DACA recipients or groups like ACLU can sue or get involved to keep it alive? I mean the thing has been running since 2012. It was never challenged like DAPA. That just sets a precedent in my opinion.

- After looking at the health care debacle, I am very disappointed and frankly am pessimistic about any type of law passing. I am afraid that the DEMOCRATS will not cooperate in order to keep Trump from having a "legislative victory."

- I hope the other AGs write a letter to Trump urging him to keep DACA alive. I'm a state employee myself. I almost feel like I should write to my AG to ask him to do this.

- Finally, I don't think DACA will be rescinded IF TRUMP holds his own and doesn't cave into the establishment..losers like Jeff Sessions. Imagine how he must be feeling right now having that letter in hand but not being able to do anything.
