Here is the issue with that. The REAL ID ACT. I know certain states are still lacking behind the REAL ID ACT but once that's enacted everyone will have to re apply for new licenses. The new deadline is 2020 and from what I read that was the last extension for everyone to be on board and their old licenses will no longer be valid, regardless of its experitation date.
