I hope you get the speedy process that you want. And I get it -- just because it took him 8 months, doesn't mean that it would take you just as long. But ultimately, you need to entertain that possibility and be prepared.

Also, I think you are more than smart enough to understand what he meant. You can't control how someone communicates to you, but you should be able to control how you respond.
