My DACA/EAD expired on 08/09/2017. Since I'm a Ph.D student, I get my stipend from the university by having a valid EAD. After my EAD expired, the university wasn't able to pay my stipend anymore. At this point, I was freaking out. I submitted case inquiry two times (one on 07/20/2017 and another on 08/04/2017) and tried contacted USCIS via email to tell them that I was going through hardship due to the delay in the processing of my application. I just got my DACA approval notice in the mail today (08/21/2017). Hopefully my EAD comes in soon.
