BREAKING: DHS refuses to extend #DACA renewal deadline. Slamming "heartless" govt, Judge invited emergency motion 4 injunction. Story ahead

1. Press conference from the plaintiffs coming. A couple quick observations ahead. Strap in.
2. Judge Garaufis furious at govt. "You can't come into court to espouse a position which is heartless."
3. Garaufis: "People need to work together. They need to get with the program."
4. To be clear, no relief granted as of yet. He said he wants to establish a full record, already talking about US Court of Appeals.
5. Discovery is moving forward. Case will end before March 5, after which no more DACA permits granted under current govt plan
Quick point on this: Judge made clear the existing record would make injunction on Oct. 5 deadline difficult- Case as whole, another story.
7. Upshot: Because of procedural issues, fate of Oct. 5 deadline unclear, but judge excoriated govt's inflexibility. Bodes badly for them.
