Hello all,

I have a question but not sure where to ask other than here.

So my wife's dad had some issues with the law, that have never been resolved, and my wife is going to try to help him become a legal permanent resident (she was born here); almost at this same time my wife will be sending my AOS application through marriage. My question is: if for any reason her dad gets in trouble with USCIS, could that affect my application? Or are the applications treated completely different each time?
