Trump and Republicans feel similarly about DACA regarding concessions and timing. They have also been supportive of DACA being permanent, like you said. They have voiced their opinions on the matter many times (through tweets, interviews, news articles, etc.).
It's easy to support DACA because DACA makes sense.
But lets just say there's varying degrees of support DACA receives and Trump along with Republicans have been 'all talk and no action' in their support relative to others.
