Very true, and the military and CHIP would also be funded for 2018 with this new CR, so if Democrats shut down the government Jan. 19 instead of Dec. 22, Democrats would not be blamed for hurting U.S. defense or not providing for children's health.
However, one month in this political climate is a long time. A bombshell could happen that could totally derail DACA between now and Jan. 19.
It's impossible to say which is the best bet (Dec. 22 or Jan. 19). Things will be a little more clear Tuesday evening when we know what comes of the tax bill.
