DACA wasn’t perfect but it was a step out of the shadows. Who gave us that? Who’s taking it away? Also, while we had DACA where were we? I think the majority of us took a step back from activism. We became complacent and thought that Hillary or some other President down the road would push for a pathway to citizenship for us.

In late 2016 reality hit us all in the face. The situation we find ourselves in isn’t ideal but it’s an opportunity to fight for something better than DACA. We definitely need to turn up the pressure on the Democratic Party but to think that turning against them will help us is stupid. Then what? Demand a “clean Dream Act”from both parties until we turn blue and pass out? The only thing we can do is continue putting pressure on BOTH parties to get something done. The best way forward to get a bill passed is through a compromise. We won’t get that by bitching out Pelosi and Schumer only. McConnell and Ryan are the ones we should really be pissed at. If they really wanted to, they could have allowed a vote on the Dream Act back in September.
